All hung-over after a fine
evening - pub, Greek restaurant in Hatfield, then Stardust Club! Last day
spent seeing Melrose House in Pretoria (see pic. 1) - a Victorian home
which saw the signing of the Peace of Vereeniging after the Anglo-Boer
War.
On to Johannesburg for a look at Gold Reef City - a major tourist-trap
let-down, but managed to cheer up to take the accompanying picture as we
were leaving (pic. 2). Even beers in the sun in the restored mining
village failed to resuscitate! Last stop Bruma Lake flea-market for
last-minute shopping (Vicky tied down at the gate to prevent any further
curio purchases!).
Coupla beers and snacks at a pub in Bruma before the tearful farewell
at JHB International - all vowing to repeat the experience in 2001 - COAST
TO COAST, it's been decided! (i.e. Cape Town, Namibia, through Bots and
Zim., and ending up in Mozambique again - we're all so in love with that
place!).
Last pic. of tour taken as we returned to Jo'burg from the airport -
sundown over Sandton - an appropriate final pic. ?
