My Embellishment adventure started on a very hot summer Thursday as I loaded up my car for the long drive to Sacramento, California. I was so excited that I forgot my case of unfinished projects and the items I wanted to share with my beady friends from AOL and the Beadtalk list. I did not, however, forget the bag of See's candy that I planned to share. The drive on I-5 was uneventful. It was a typical drive on rural I-5, pretty much straight and somewhat boring. It was very hot, and I kept a close eye on the temp gauge in my car. I kept the sunroof closed to minimize the hot sun shining in, and of course the air conditioner was on!I managed to take the Convention Center exit off the highway once I got into Sacramento and even found the host hotel, the Hyatt, with no problems. If it was at all possible it was even hotter in Sacramento. I put my car in the Hyatt's garage, and pushed, pulled, carried my luggage to the check-in desk. Seeing many, many women wearing beautiful works of art around their necks was the tipoff that this was going to be F U N !! While waiting to check in, my roommate found me and after exchanging hugs and excited greetings we went up to our lovely room on the 4th floor. After settling in we went over to the Sacramento Convention Center which was just a short walk outside in the blazing sun. The pictures on the next pages represent some of my recollections of the four days spent at Embellishment. I know I will miss some names, or maybe mis-identify some of you, but please know what a wonderful time I had. The sharing, love, camaraderie, and just plain fun cannot be easily explained in words. So please enjoy my recollections.
