I am hoping you can help me, you seem to know a great deal about girdles. Should I wear my panties over my open bottom girdle? Or should I wear then underneath my girdle? I have asked a number of people and no one seem to know.

Well Kelly (Have we met?), good question. I am not sure anyone really knows the answer, but there was a recent post on the “Girdles and More” forum that dealt with this question. The answer seems to be underneath your open bottom girdle, but I think you can do whatever the heck you want to! I know I do.

First of all, the question of over or under on the bra is the same conundrum as the first question. The fact is that it doesn’t matter, do what you like. However, in the past corset shops would sew little tabs on to girdles. Long line bra’s came with little hooks that attached to these, OVER the girdle. For Billie, the best answer is get a better girdle, one that fits correctly and this won’t happen. Also, make sure your stockings fit correctly as well. However, this does happen to me with certain girdles, or if I have gained a few pounds. I sew a hook on the inside of the back of my girdles, I attached this to one of the hook and eyes on my long line. This seems to work well.

Last week I was walking through a store with a work colleague when a woman came up and asked me where I had been. I panicked; this was a woman that worked in a store where I often bought dresses. I turned away and then said to my friend, with much bravado, “Who the hack was that?” What would you have done?

Well I probably would have panicked too, but next time be a bit nicer. Just the other day I was walking through Lord & Taylor with a woman I work with, and the dress salesperson said hello to me. I simply said hello back. My friend didn’t even notice

I guess the only thing I can say is if you figure out a good way to get any eyelashes on I would be interested. I suggest you practice, and not when you have 20 minutes before you go out.

Another fantastic outfit from Estelle’s Dressy Dresses! A lace skirt, velvet top with lace sleeves and some lace pumps I got from Newport News (another great catalog). It felt lovely on too.

2 questions. How do you get your back garters done? Sometimes I leave them undone because I cannot attach my stockings to them. Second, how small is small?
