Here is a yellow suit I have had for a while when I went through my "yellow" period
Every now and then I get a letter that really makes me think. Here’s one from a real girl I have corresponded with before.
Dear April, As you know I have been a fan of you pages for many years. You have been very helpful to me in the makeup department, and thanks to you I wear pantyhose all of the time because I like them!
Well for a variety of reasons I have not visited your site for a few months. A few nights ago I finally came back, and I must say sometimes you confuse me.
In 30 minutes of perusing your site I saw you in what could be described as a “dowdy” pantsuit, two stunning gowns, and a new “pouffy” outfit as you call them.
You had a couple of spectacular hairdos, then some conservative “flips”.
So help me out. I think you’d be one or the other, yet your look changes all the time, and not just in style but in substance. Why not one look, why so many? And why the “dowdy” look?

Yes Virginia there is an April Claus…sorry couldn’t resist…..darn good question though isn’t it?
I have mentioned often how obsessive I was in my 20’s with “passing”, a much harder thing to do then without laser and limited funds. But I was passing, and it wasn’t “doing it” for me. As much as I liked pantyhose wearing just one pair wasn’t enough; skillfully applied makeup didn’t compare to great gobs of makeup; fantastic wigs that cost $400+ weren’t as interesting a big outrageous styles. I needed something else.
Not surprisingly I drew and continue to draw inspiration from real women I’ve known. Even in my 30’s I would see these women in their 40’s and 50’s dressed in pantsuits. I found when I dressed that way I enjoyed it. The same is true for casual dresses, dressy dresses and gowns. It really depends on my mood.
And because I am in love with vintage foundations, knowing that under these outfits was a girdle and stockings was a real turn on for me.
There is am image that so many CD’s love—the woman, at her vanity, applying makeup, with her stocking tops showing in some fashion. You all know the one I mean. That image is one I aspire to personally as well.
At the end of the day Virginia I relay have no answer for you. I don’t know why one week I crave a big pouffy outfit and the next a pantsuit. Just all part of the fun I guess
I have gotten many emails about Trudy the lawyer. Once again—she does not know April nor is it likely she will know April. And no Trudy is not her real name. Though I do find her fascinating. I met her a local mall and she had a Bloomingdale’s bag. I could she the packages of pantyhose, but she volunteered as well “I go through so many pairs of pantyhose, when they are on sale I get 5 or 6 pairs”
I will say she works hard—she just called me on a Sunday morning with another case.
In answer to a few questions, most notably from an irrtating person who wrote 4 times in three days--yes I almost always wear floral panties.
They are either Vanity Fair or Bali, though I am favoring Bali these days. Skimp Skamp full cut briefs
