You know I have often heard about the inequities that woman face. For example a shirt at the dry cleaners in $1.50 to clean, a blouse is $6.00.
While I believe this to be true, and I am not minimalizing it in any way, I think it works against men as well
For example, I have been trying to find new men’s shows. First of all I am not crazy about the new designs, but because I wear a 7 or 7.5 there is little available.
Yesterday I went to Macy’s, and found nothing, but down in woman’s, I found 2 pairs!
The same was true for Nordstrom, but the women’s shows I liked were $360, so I passed on them.
But at Lord and Taylor, where they don’t even carry size 7 for men, there was a spiffy pair of blue pumps that will go with a dress I just bought.
And DSW, with hundreds of man’s shoes, nothing- but I got the white wedges I am wearing as I write this.
I finally found some, 4 pairs of April’s shows later.
At the risk of being thought of as a stalker, I did have a great experience at one of the malls I was in. This lovely young blond, 30 something and very tall, walked past me in a very short skirt and some lovely hosiery. Naturally I followed her for a bit, and when she got a coffee and sat, well so did I
My vigilance paid off as not only was she stunning when she took her sunglasses off, she worked on her mascara and lipstick, and moved so I got a shot at some type of “shaper” as she applied lipstick. Fantastic! I couldn’t wait to get home and get dressed!
