Lester Afflick 1956-2000
The depth of Lester's warm feelings, friendship and perception is quite apparent in the photos below. Lester's capacity to savor human social moments is as great, or greater, than any other zen master or hipster. Lester also was contagious, he drew many, many artists and compatriots together into a festive, joyful, close human community.
Lester's love, irony and humor is inseperable from his poetry. His unrelenting, insatiable desire to excel in art, irregardless of material success, day and night, is not cliche, but real and awe-inspiring. Lester is with us for the rest of our lives, our souls' comfort.
Friends and family are organizing his writings for future publication and readings. A memorial is scheduled from 1-5pm Sunday, October 8th at the Knitting Factory.

Fog forever foraging
tackles the high
stalks
inbibes treeline
ridgeline cabin
Stragglers on the way
scam of a sun
me in my mood
south of anywhere
scoping things out
sipping in my tenets
smoking my rile
limping towards
some horizon...
pure tumbleweed
