Camping Around Bloomington

Several parks offer camping - primitive as well as areas with electric hook ups and a few offer cabins.

Allen's Creek - Monroe Reservoir

State owned, located on the southeast side of the lake. it is situated on a peninsula of 380 acres, Free primitive camping, access by walking or boat. Ramp and overnight mooring available.

Hardin Ridge - Monroe Reservoir

Operated by the U.S. Forest Service and located off of St. Rd. 446 on Chapel Hill Road, Includes 1,000 acres of land, full service camping area, picnic areas, shelters, ramp, beach, hiking, showers, snack bar and Visitors Center.

Lake Monroe Village

A-frame home and RV rental. Log cabins in wooded setting. Cabins include air conditioning, heater, beds and refrigerator. You bring bedding and cooking utensils, no indoor water in cabins, public restrooms and showers. Facilities include a pool, kiddie pool, hot tub, recreation hall, picnic pavilion, playground and hiking trails. Overnight accommodations for campers. VC, MC

Paynetown - Monroe Reservoir

State owned, centrally located on the north side of the lake. It encompasses 440 acres and has primitive and modern camping sites. Boat ramp, beach, hiking trails, showers and handicap fishing dock. Overnight mooring for campers. Visitors Center located at entrance on St. Rd. 446, Entrance fee or state park pass required.

Pine Grove R.V. Campground

Seasonal (April-Oct) R.V. sites available with water, electric and sewer. On-side overnight R.V. rentals available with bathroom and shower. Cooking utensils provided; just bring towels and bedding. Three boat ramps to Lake Monroe within three miles of campground. Hiking trails nearby.
