Tuesday Nite Men’s Rules

GENERAL RULES:
This organization shall be known as the Tuesday Nite Men’s League.
This league will bowl for 36 weeks each Tuesday at Liberty Lanes from 6:05 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. starting August 29, 2000 and ending May 1, 2001. Practice at 6:05 PM and competition at 6:15 PM.
Each team will furnish team name and roster to the league secretary at least one week prior to the bowling season. No more than fourteen teams will be formed from membership with each team limited to eight members.
The board of directors will consist of a team captain or representative from each team plus the league officers. A league officer cannot be a team captain or representative.
The price of bowling shall be $12.00 per night, collected by each team captain and delivered to the League Secretary no later than the end of the first game of bowling. Lineage will be $2.45 per game plus tax for a total of $7.87 and the remainder of $4.13 will be deposited in the league account. When a blind/absentee bowler is used, the regular scheduled bowler is responsible for paying the bowling money for the night. If a team has a vacancy, $4.13 will be deducted from that team’s prize fund unless the team pays the fee.
This league shall be sanctioned with the American Bowling Association. The sanction fee will be $16.00 for renewals and new players and $8.00 for Suncoast Bowling Association members and out of town members.
A player who arrives after his team has started bowling shall not be permitted to compete in any game if any bowler has started to bowl in the fourth frame. Failure to observe this rule will be cause for forfeit of all that games points by the player’s team.
The team captain or representative from each team in the league this season will be guaranteed a place in the league next season. The cut-off point will be provided by the league secretary.
The secretary/treasurer’s fee for the 2000/2001 season will be $ .50 per man per night. The Secretary/Treasurer shall be responsible for collecting all league funds, maintaining bank or credit union accounts, preparing all financial reports, all league records, and other functions relating to league money.
Bowlers transferring from one team to another:
a. A player may transfer from one roster to another roster with the approval of ¾ of the Board of Directors. Captains must submit a revised roster while maintaining a maximum of eight bowlers.
b. A bowler can be a member of only one team roster in the league at any one time.
c. A bowler cannot return to the team he transferred from during the current season.
No team can replace a bowler or add to their team roster during the last five weeks of the season without the unanimous vote of the Board of Directors. The only exception is if a team has a vacancy and less than 5 on their roster.
Team sponsorship will be $25.00 per team payable from the sponsor or the team members. Sponsorship fee must be paid by the fifth week of bowling.
League rules will be determined and voted by present members consisting of a quorum prior to league commencement.
Teams and individuals can qualify for only one prize and only in the category that will yield the highest prize award. If a team or individual has an equal prize award in separate categories, the following priority system will be used to determine which prize will be awarded.
For example, if an individual or team has equal prize award in three game scratch and three game handicap, they must take the three game scratch, and the next high bowler or team of three game handicap will move into the vacant slot.
The individual high average award shall be awarded to the player who bowled the highest average in at least 70 of the total scheduled games. In case of a tie for the high average, the percentage system will determine the winner (total pins divided by number of games carried to tie breaking decimal).
NOTE: Individual season bowling average award is not included in the one prize rule. An individual does qualify for any prize plus any season bowling average award.

The Vice President shall, in the absence of the President, perform the duties of that office.
Article 2. Handicap
Handicap
The handicap allowance for this league shall be 90% of the difference between each individual’s average and 240, resulting fractions of a pin shall
not be considered. No max. handicap.Entering Averages
For the first 12 games of bowling in the new season, bowlers will use the average established in the league last season based on 21 games or more. All others shall use their highest yearbook average from the previous season based on 21 games minimum, current 21 or more game average or
highest summer league average, whichever is highest. Documentation of summer or current league average must be furnished by the bowler. Those having no local yearbook, summer, or current average will have handicap computed after the first three games series to be applied on the current average. Bowlers must bowl three games in the first series in which they compete to qualify for a current season handicap. Scores bowled will not be eligible for individual high handicap awards until after a current season three game average has been established.Team Handicap Awards
To be eligible for team handicap awards, at least four members of the team must have handicaps based on current season’s average for 12 games or more at the time the high score is bowled.
Prize List
Prior to the start of the season, the President shall appoint a committee of three or more members to draw up a prize distribution list. The prize list must be submitted to and approved by a majority of the Board of Directors and posted on the standing board within five weeks after the start of the schedule. To be eligible for individual average prize money and special awards, a member must bowl at least 70 of the total scheduled games during the season. The Prize Committee is:
Article 3. Split Season
The bowling season shall be bowled in the split season format. There will be 4 quarters consisting of 9 weeks in each quarter. The team with the most points will be the champion each quarter. A team can only qualify for the playoff tournament once a season. If a team wins more than one quarter, the team with the next best winning record will go the playoff tournament for that quarter.
Team standing prize money shall be divided among each quarter. At the season end, a playoff tournament will be held to determine the overall league champion on week 37. If a tie is accomplished, the total pin count shall be used.
Article 4. Point System
Division standing shall be determined by the thirty point system as follows:
Team per game: -4 points by 3 games =12
Team three games series -3 points = 3
Players match -1 point x 5 players x game =15
TOTAL =30
In case of a tie by two bowlers, 0.5 points will be awarded to each bowler. Where two blind scores are involved, they must be matched against each other and the team winning the game will be awarded the point. Where a blind is against a bowler, the bowler must beat the blind handicap score in order to receive the point. The team scheduled to bowl on the odd numbered lane will submit their line-up first, allowing a reasonable time for the opposing team to position his line-up. Ten minutes should be considered reasonable.
Article 5. Blind Scores and Legal Line-up
Blind scores shall be allowed when team has legal line-up of at least three members but less than full line-up at the start of any game in a series. The blind scores shall be the average, less 10 pins, of the absent bowler on the team roster having rolled the most games. When no average is available, a 120 vacancy score will be used for the vacant positions.
If two blind scores are needed, the average less 10 pins of the absentee with the next highest number of games shall be used for the second blind score.
When two absentees have the same number of games, the lower average shall be used. If a team does not have a legal line-up, no team points can be won. Individual points shall be awarded if won by bowler present.
The handicap of absent bowlers shall be included in the score.
Article 6. Position Round Ties
In the event of a tie for first place at the end each quarter, a one game roll-off will occur.
Article 7. General Playing Rules
The general playing rules and regulations of league rules and regulations of the American Bowling Congress shall govern competition in this league where the league has exercised an option as permitted ABC rules.]
Article 8. Last Two Weeks Bowling Fees
The last two weeks of bowling fees must be paid by the end of the first quarter. The sponsorship fee must be paid by the fifth week of bowling. If a team is in arrears at the end of the season (excluding playoffs) then they will not be eligible for any prize money. The prize fund will then be distributed to all remaining eligible teams.
Article 9. Team Forfeits
Any team bowling unopposed must use the average minus 10 pins for each of the bowlers that do not show up. The no-show team members must use the most games bowled in that league to make the team. Points will not be awarded to the no-show team. The team present must beat the unopposed team game total to win the game points. If they do not beat the no-show team, they can only in the individual points for each game.
Article 10. Position Rounds
The league season will consist of one position night per quarter (weeks 9, 18, 27and 36) and the payoff night, week 37, will be the playoff tournament only.
Article 11. Pre or Post Bowling
The league will have NO Pre or Post bowling.
Article 12. Playoff Tournament Format
Three games will be bowled in the playoffs using four lanes. Teams will be seeded by the points earned in the quarter they qualified for the tournament. In case of a tie, total pins with handicap will be used from their winning quarter. Seed 1 will be the team with the best winning record. All other teams will be ordered by their points won for the quarter they qualified.
Round 1: Seed 1 vs Seed 2, Seed 3 vs Seed 4
Round 2: Seed 1 vs Seed 4, Seed 2 vs Seed 3 ( Seed 1 chooses the lanes to bowl on)
Round 3: Seed 1 vs Seed 3, Seed 4 vs Seed 2 ( Seed 1 chooses the lanes to bowl on)
The team with the most points earned is the League Champions. Use the Position Ties Rule for any ties.
Article 13. 50/50 Tickets
There will be a 50/50 drawing each night. The winning number has to at least knock down one pin on the first ball to receive half of what was collected that night. There will be two volunteers to sell 50/50 tickets. Tickets will be $1.00 each or 10 tickets for $5.00.
At the end of the season the league will have catered food on payoff night (week 37). The remainder of the money will be used for the Playoff Tournament.
