Important information
Some important information as we hit the home stretch for the playoffs:
- Update Your Default Line ups Week 11 brought us many trades. Please
update your default line ups with Calvin.
- Check Your scores and Points With the trades and adds and drops,
points can somehow get "lost" on the spreadsheet. PLease make sure that the
weekly scores listed on your team pages matches the result for each week.
- Week 14 Party Week 14 and therefore our traditional playoff party,
falls during Thanksgiving weekend. Of course, many of us will be out of town.
Which of the following works better for you:
- Monday party on week 14. Week 14's Monday night game is San Fran v Atlanta.
We could meet at a sports bar. (We did this in 93)
- Have party week 15 or 16 at either someone's house or in a sports bar
with satellite games.
- Out of the Office I'll be out of the office w/o NOV 11 and some of
the following week on business. Please send me your results and thoughts on
party plans to my work id. Thanks.

He's Back...Talbot Blasts into Third
A few weeks ago the buzzards were circling. The lowest weekly score since 1993
and then the trade - Jackson picking from the carcus the top player in league,
Terry Allen. However, thanks to a 70-38 win over fading BEST, Talbot is in
third - possibly closing in on some money for the fifth straight year.
The 70 points - even more than he had in the amazing week 16 upset of
undefeated Deitrich last year - is a personal high. This week he was led by the
players that came over in the Allen Trade, Minnesota QBs and Jake Reed, Talbot
cracked it open during "garbage time" in the MIN/SEA game. Brad Johnson, MIN's
back up QB outscored Best's Johnsons (he has four - three started) 17-15.
Don't Forget Stroupe
Stroupe has won 4 of 5, the latest was a 49-37 win over Outlaw. SD QBs - a
thrown in the early season Marshall Faulk deal - threw three TDs allowing
Stroupe take over fourth place. Of the four 6-5 teams, only Stroupe has a
chance to claim a bye due to a win over Jackson in week 5.
Wallace shuffles team, clinches bye
Wallace, playing the first of back to back games against former roommates,
held off Mosakowski 44-38. Wallace made some trades. Jax Qbs went to BUD
for Cris Carter and Irving Fryar and Jimmy Smith went to Stroupe for
James "Little Man" Stewart. The lineup shakeup cost him a chance to crack
500 points for the season, but Wallace has clinched a bye.
Barry hits CZ where it hurts
Czupryna's loss to Barry 46-40 was painful because Barry has New England QBs
and Ben Coates. CZ has not fared well this year when facing players from his
favorite team. Barry is beginning to look like that team that emerges
from the back of the pack to make some playoff noise. Along with his usual
potent lineup, Barry has emerging talent on his bench like Chris Calloway
and Fred Barnett.
Jackson sets honor roll record
Jackson 59-25 win over games was his fourth straight honor roll game. No one
had ever strung more than three in a row, including BUD in 95 and BEST in
94. The Baltimore QBs are primarily responsible. They have been averaging
20 points a game since Calvin acquired them four weeks ago.
Ricker making late bid to escape cellar
Ricker, who has the equivalent of two starting sets of running backs on his
team, has won again. This despite another big game from a backfield bench
warmer, this time Harold Green. However starters Adrian Murrell, Thurman Thomas and
Jamal Anderson all turned in productive days to help Ricker to end his six game
slide with a 38-25 win over Deitrich. BUD recent acquired Jacksonville Qbs
as another option to the mediocre trio of PIT, IND and KC. Jax did fine
this week with 14 points, but the rest of Bud's team, Mickens and Pickens and
company haven't been in the endzone since week 9.
Jones/Klingman over Peil
No confirmation, but rumor is this did happen...
