Kurt Weill:
Die Dreigroschenoper (1928)

Probably the more recognized and originally revolutionary work of Kurt Weill, with book by Bertolt Brecht and peculiar orchestration and vocal writing, and whose critically social content has become inmaculate along the century. Among its multiple songs there are the very famous Seeräuber-Jenny (Pirate Jenny), Kanonen-Song (Cannon Song), Ballade von der sexuellen Hörigkeit (Ballade of the Sexual Obsession) and, over the rest, Die Möritat von Mackie Messer (The Ballad of Mack the Knife).
