Jerry Goldsmith: CHAIN REACTION

Although relatively type-cast, lately, on action films of any kind and period, right away from the first bar of this new work is evident the concern and intention, by his author, to confer it with a sound relatively different to Executive Decision, only to mention one of his last scores on the same genre. Increasing, comparatively, the electronic effects and the themes of a type between modern and romantic, electric guitars included, the overall impact seems, at less, surprising and novel in view of the general tone so little varied on which the last scores of the american composer were developed. There is room for the violently orchestral passages, a trademark, and that particular rhythm which, whatever its level will be, has all the Jerry Goldsmith works. The presence of cues of a certain extent and lenght its a good example of this "novel" air. M.A.F.
