On the trail of his 1994 score for Clear and Present Danger, this new work of James Horner of warlike-patriotic ambient and environment use, once more time, all the know arsenal of resources and solutions of this composer, since his magnificent Krull (1983) unveil him as one of the most demanded authors of our times: abrupt sound explosions in front of peaceful areas more or less emotive, wide handling of the metal and percussion sections of the orchestra, melodies rooted on the more classic northamerican feeling, cues of "divine" lenght (like the impressive ten minutes of Al Bathra/Main Title), etc. The result, as always, shows the creative "easiness" of Horner, but does not impede the presence of certain sensation of deja vú along the hearing; something, by the way, which seems connatural to the work of film music composers.
