Trevor Jones: DARK CITY

Author of an already considerable list of titles (more than sixty), however there is not Trevor Jones one of the most recognized composers by the fan, though he has been delivered scores of excellence like The Dark Crystal (1982) or Arachnophobia (1990), or worked in successes as The Last of the Mohicans (1992) -together with his coleague Randy Edelman- or Cliffhanger (1993). That's why it is nice to have the chance to hear the thirty-seven minutes of his music for Dark City included on this record, prologued with six songs of assorted profile (Anita Kelsey, Echo & The Bunnymen,...) three of whom are not part of the film, but are included as another example of the marketing generated around the soundtrack world; it's the same, the dark and gothic visual world that depicts the Alex Proyas film, with its complicate plot, find in Jones an excellent collaborator capable of offering the correct sound stroke, though some rhythmic references seems too much close to the music of Igor Stravinsky, or that in moments it did not work the fusion between electronics and instruments that he use.
