Adaptation of one of scarce still unfilmed novels of Richard Bachman - Stephen King,
Thinner is a new opportunity for specilist on horror movies composer Daniel Licht, author, among others, of Children of the Night (1992) or the latest instalment, until now, of the Hellraiser series with Hellraiser: Bloodline (1996). Conscious of the bigger extent of this project, Licht utilize the main theme of the plot (an old gipsy curses a medium executive who has run over his wife) for the use of gipsy airs which add more colour to a big orchestra, whenever needed, to which join the clear influence of the composition style of Christopher Young, whose previous works on the genre make him worthy of an important place inside of it; to emphasize still more this home ground, the name of Pete Anthony, a usual Young's collaborator, appears as co-orchestrator and conductor of the score. Anyway, Licht's music, although a little bit impersonal as mentioned, is commendable of attention. A.L.
