265. Alfred Kerr Buckalew. Born on 10 July 1836 in PA. Alfred Kerr died on 14 March 1864; he was 27.

Alfred Kerr married Lizzie. Born in 1837. Lizzie died in 1862; she was 25.

266. Sarah C. Buckalew. Born on 2 October 1838 in PA. Sarah C. died on 28 July 1879; she was 40.

267. Thomas Jefferson Buckalew. Born on 14 March 1842 in Dixon Twp; Lee Co., IL. Thomas Jefferson died on 25 September 1901; he was 59. Buried in Dixon Twp; Lee Co., IL. Occupation: Farmer and Carpenter.

Purchased "wild" land, which he cleared with the help of his sons, the timber being sold as cordwood by contract.

   ...This was published in a book published in 1892 on Lee County, Illinois.    "Thomas J. Buckaloo who owns and operates 141 acres of land on section 15, Dixon Township, is a worthy representative of one of the honored pioneer families of the county.  His parents here located in an early day, more than half a century having passed since they became residents of Dixon Township.  His father Joseph Buckaloo, was born in the Keystone State, Pennsylvania of Dutch parentage and after attaining to mature years, wedded Miss Eliza Kerr, who was born in the same locality as her husband, but was of Irish descent.  In 1889, with their two children, they emigrated westward by way of the water route to Savanna, Illinois and from thence to Lee County.  A few years after their arrival Mr. Buckaloo purchased the farm on which our subject now resides and it continued to be his home until his death in 1852 at the age of 40 years.  His widow died January 11, 1892 being 76 years of age.  The surviving member of the family, are T.J. of this sketch; and Amanda H. and George W. who are living in Dixon.    Mr. Buckaloo, whose name heads this sketch, has spent his entire life in this locality.  He was born near his present farm on the 17 of March 1842, and has ever followed agricultural pursuits with the exception of two years, when he worked at the trade of a carpenter. He was only ten years old when his father died, but with his mother he remained until his marriage. In Ogle County he wed Miss Maggie A. Craddock, a native of Hagerstown, Washington County, MD and a daughter of John and Amelia Craddock, the former born in England and the later in Maryland.  When her father crossed the sea, he began his life in America as a farmer.  After marriage, he moved West and with his family located in Ogle County, Illinois settling in Pine Creek Township where he established one of the first mills in the county.  He went to Peru where he contracted cholera and had barely time to reach home before his death occurred.  His wife died about the close of the war in July 1865 in Buffalo Grove Township.  Her only son was a soldier of the late war and died in Chicago in July 1890.    Five children have been born unto Mr. and Mrs. Buckaloo, Clinton C. is a teacher, Mabel E. engaged in teaching; Grace A., Libby and Allen T. are at home.

Thomas Jefferson married Margaret Amelia Craddock, daughter of John Craddock & Amelia (-July 1865), in Pine Creek Twp, Ogle Co., IL. Born on 11 May 1838 in Hagerstown, Washington Co., MD. Margaret Amelia died in 1926; she was 87. Buried in Dixon Twp; Lee Co., IL. Nickname: Maggie.

They had the following children:

268. Jane M. Buckalew. Born about 1844 in IL. Jane M. died on 6 February 1877; she was 33. Nickname: Jennie.

On 26 September 1865 when Jane M. was 21, she married Elias Bovey, in Lee Co., IL. Born in 1838 in Washington Co., IL. Elias died in 1902; he was 64.

They had one child:
644 i. Emma Maud

269. Amanda Horner Buckalew. Born on 30 May 1846 in IL. Amanda Horner died on 8 July 1936; she was 90.

270. George Washington Buckalew. Born on 28 May 1849 in IL. George Washington died on 20 June 1941; he was 92.
