1162. Elizabeth Ann Buckalew. Born on 23 November 1856 in Coshocton Co., OH. Elizabeth Ann died in Knoxville, IA, in 1931; she was 74. Buried in Graceland Cem., Knoxville, IA. Nickname: Lizzie.

1163. William Lambert Buckalew. Born on 8 February 1858 in Newborn, Marion Co., IA. William Lambert died in Knoxville, IA, on 15 June 1939; he was 81. Buried on 18 June 1939 in Graceland Cemetery, Knoxville, IA.

1939, June 22; The Knoxville Journal, p. 9; Obit.:

"...born in Marion County, Iowa, Feb 8, 1858 and died at the home of his sister, Mrs. A. O. Anderson, 1409 Robinson St., Knoxville, Thursday evening, June 15, 1939, aged 80 years, 4 months and 7 days.

"His early life was spent in Dallas, Iowa where he attended the public school and received his early education. After this he went to Kansas where he spent a few years; returning to Iowa, he with his sister, moved to a farm two and one half miles southwest of Knoxville, where he lived until 1919 when he moved to Knoxville, where he has since resided.

"He was converted under the ministry of Billy Sunday and united with the Methodist Church in Beulah.

"He is survived by one sister, Mrs. A. O. Anderson, Knoxville; two brothers, Eugene Bucklew, Knoxville, and Arba Bucklew, Melcher. He is also survived by two neeices, Mrs. David Holsz, and Mrs. Norma Langdon; three nephews, Will and Donald Bucklew and Gray Anderson who live in the vicinity of Knoxville, besides many other relatives and friends.

1164. Isaac Joseph Buckalew. Born on 23 April 1860 in Newborn/Dallas, Marion Co., IA. Isaac Joseph died in Hays, Ellis Co., KS, on 20 May 1905; he was 45. Buried in Mt. Allen Cemetery, Hays, KS. Nickname: Ike.

On 8 December 1885 when Isaac Joseph was 25, he married Hattie Elizabeth Brooke, daughter of George Washington Brooke (January 1823-) & Sophia Lamhear (1834-), in Stockton, Rooks Co., KS. Born on 19 December 1862 in Hanover, Jo Daviess Co., IL. Hattie Elizabeth died in Nevada, Vernon Co., MO, on 30 October 1946; she was 83.

1165. Mary Ingabie Buckalew. Born on 25 December 1862 in Newbern (Dallas?), Marion Co., IA. Mary Ingabie died in Knoxville, Marion Co., IA, on 21 July 1945; she was 82. Buried on 23 July 1945 in Graceland Cem., Knoxville, IA.

Obituary:

"...born near Newbern, Iowa, Dec 25, 1862, and died at her home in Knoxville July 21, 1945, aged 82 years, 6 months and 26 days.

"...moved with her parents to Dallas, Ia., and later to Phillips county, Kans., ...there that she met A.O. Anderson, to whom she was married at Logan, Kans., Nov. 11, 1886. One son was born to them.

"They came to Knoxville about 1894 and operated one of the early general mercantile stores and for many years, Mrs. Anderson worked with her husband in business and shared the responsibility in making it a success.

"...became a member of the Methodist church when but a girl, at Dallas, I a., and following the Billy Sunday meetings in Knoxville she and her husband became members of the Knoxville Methodist church. She was active in the church as long as she was able to take part. She gave much of her time and strength to the Willing Workers S.S. Class and was one of the first members of the Knoxville Legion Auxiliary.

"...son, Gary (sic), and one brother, E.L. Bucklew, all of Knoxville; also one half-brother, Arba Bucklew, of Melcher, Ia., now living in California.

"...preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Sherman P., Isaac, William and Lissie Bucklew.

"Funeral...at the Methodist church in Knoxville...July 23 1945 ... Interment was at Graceland cemetery."

On 11 November 1886 when Mary Ingabie was 23, she married Alonzo O. Anderson, in Phillipsburg, Logan(?), Phillips, KS. Alonzo O. died on 11 November 1947 in Knoxville, Marion Co., IA.

1166. Sherman P. Buckalew. Born on 25 May 1865 in Newbern/Dallas(?), Marion Co., IA. Sherman P. died in Knoxville, IA, on 7 June 1936; he was 71. Buried in Graceland Cem, Marion Co., IA.

Data Discrepancies: Other sources have his marriage to Mila Smith occurring in Stockton, Rooks Co., KS. Also, a deathdate of 15 Mar 1948 in Knoxville, Marion Co., IA, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville, IA.

On 5 April 1885 when Sherman P. was 19, he married Mila E. Smith, in Logan, KS. Born in March 1866 in IN. Mila E. died in 1921; she was 54. Buried in Graceland Cem., Marion Co., IA.

In 1899 when Eugene Laurel was 21, he first married Eliza Annie Garrison, daughter of John Garrison & Dorothy Sheetall, in IA. Born in Knoxville, Marion Co., IA. Eliza Annie died in March 1926. Buried in Greenwood Cem., Knoxville, IA.

In November 1927 when Eugene Laurel was 50, he second married Mayble Nye. Mayble died in 1934.
