here was at Hoxter in Westphalia a Dietrich Derenthal, who
was a Burgermeister at Hoxter. He had a daughter, born ca 1507 whose name is not known
that married first about 1532 Ernst Wipperman, a merchant of Lemgo and had at least four
sons: Justus (Jobst), Christian (Carsten), Johannes, and Anton. She married second
Gottschalk Cothman. Carsten Wipperman built a house still standing at Lemgo that for many
years housed the distillery for Wipperman-Korn, a widely known brand of German Schnapps.
