christened 9 Sep 1770 in Raritan Dutch Church, Somerset County, New Jersey; died 13 March
1796 in Somerset County, New Jersey. He married about 1795 in Somerset County, New Jersey,
Elizabeth Waldron. At his death in 1796 Jonathan left a will naming his wife but no
children. As Elizabeth Traphagen, his widow probably remarried about 1802 John Force.
It is possible that Elizabeth in her widowhood gave birth to a child out of wedlock in 1800 and named him for her late husband. This is a possible explanation for the Jonathan Traphagen of Greene County, New York who had a close relationship with John T. Bray and his wife Euphema, the nephew of this Jonathan Traphagen.
