eorge Heinrich Friedrich Ludwig Traphagen was born January 23, 1799 at Luthe, Germany and christened there January 27, 1799, the son of Johann Heinrich Christoph Traphagen and Marie Louise Eleonore Elisabeth Röbbing.

        As Henry Traphage he emigrated to New York City in 1823. He made his way to New Orleans Lousiana previous to 1835 for he married about 1836 to Catherine Wolf. She was born about 1820 at Nonnweiler in the Rhineprovinz, Germany. She outlived her husband and died between 1880 and 1900.

        At the birth of his son Henry in 1841 he was called the keeper of a woodyard in Lafayette, Jefferson Parrish, Lousiana. In various directories for the city he is listed as a wooddealer living at 181 Rousseau. He died at New Orleans March 14, 1870.

2. Henry Theodore Traphagen was born October 20, 1841 in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana. and died July 19, 1909. He married about 1874 in New Orleans Catherine McClain. Catharine was born in March 1846 at died in New Orleans April 15, 1909,

3. Henry Aloyisious Traphagen was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Henry worked for the New Orleans Police Department, first as the driver of a horse drawn paddy wagon and later as a bailiff. His retirement merited mention in the New Orleans Newspaper. He married Edna Roubichaux.

4. Henry Joseph Traphagenwas born July 2, 1916 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He married November 30, 1940 in New Orleans Ruth Shepard Wells. Ruth was born January 30, 1919 in Portland, Arkansas. They currently live in Plaquemine, Louisiana.

5. Henry Joseph (Sonny) Traphagen, Jr was born August 7, 1943 in Plaquemine, Louisiana. He married December 23, 1962 in Plaquemine Maxine Ray Witt. Maxine was born September 1, 1944 in Plaquemine, Louisiana. They currently live in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

1. Trent Anderson, born June 22, 1969 in Plaquemine, La. He married Madeleine (  ).
