GUIDING LIGHT

When you're looking for an answer to a problem you're going through
If left in the hands of your Higher Power, It's a miracle...what God will do

Sometimes I try to listen for the answer I want to hear
But it's not always what I want, That's whispered in my ear

When I tried to do it my way, Nothing ever seemed to work out
I tried everything with all my might till I finally had to shout

God where are you? Do you not see?
I hate what I've done with my life, Please help me

He showed me he was powerful, more so than any man
And if I followed his Guiding Light, I'd see he has a plan

It wasn't hard to give it up to him, for I knew I had done it all wrong
And the places my "will" led me, would have consumed my life before long

But now comes the tricky part when everything's rolling smooth
I feel I can handle it by myself, no more wounds for him to soothe

But to no avail, as soon as I grab the wheel
Everything turns upside down then I see he is very real

The best way I can think of to live by God's Commands
Is to pray to him everyday to keep me in his hands

His answers may not be what I want, but I'm sure that they are right
Cause everything always works out for me when I follow that Guiding Light
