Dear Dad: Memorial Day - You are remembered. There are no cards made to give
to the men and women who served to keep our country free. So I am writing
you a note of thanks for doing your duty in the armed forces to protect this country
and our freedoms. Every year as the parade goes by, I get tears in my eyes. These
men and women willingly went to fight and die that I may live in a free Nation. When
I hear the Star Spangled Banner played at games, I thank God for the men and women
who protect us. But it breaks my heart to see the youngsters who show no respect
for the flag, which represents each of you who gave of yourselves. Some were
safe, some were wounded, and some died. The pride and thankfulness isn't taught
to this younger generation. I hope that my children realize what you and others
did by going to war. Thank you and God Bless You Dad, I love you. Peggy Eugene
