I got a wake up call today
I found that I'd been drifting
And to my God I want to say
Thank you for doing the lifting

I always knew I could turn to him
But this time I got lost
Carrying the burden, shame and sin
I met a bridge and couldn't get across

I'd been full of fear and sorrow
After a period of feeling fine
Now I was worrying about tomorrow
With troubles which where mine

I forgot that God never leaves me
He's always where we parted
I wanted to feel that love from He,
Who's miracle got me started

Well, today I don't feel any fear
For He's relieved me of it all
Because finally today I was able to hear
"This is your wake up call"
