Minako and Usagi followed Haruka and the girl to a coffee shop. Usagi said they must be a couple. Minako whispered to Usagi, "I've decided. That's the ideal man that I've been looking for!"
"Minako-chan!" wailed Usagi as loudly as she dared, "as you can see, he has a girlfriend!"
"You haven't asked him about it, right?" retorted Minako. She took a deep gulp from a glass of water and slammed it down. "I am now ready for my upcoming love!"
The glass of water had come from the tray of a passing waitress. "Please Miss, take a seat...", offered the waitress politely.
Haruka and the girl left the coffee shop and Usagi and Minako followed them. Usagi said that the girl must be Haruka's girlfriend, but Minako said they didn't know for sure. Minako told Usagi she should go on alone to Rei's house. But Usagi said she was interested in the cool guy too. Minako snapped back that Usagi already had Mamoru. Haruka and the girl parted and Haruka went into a car repair shop. When the girl went on by herself, Minako said they probably weren't boyfriend and girlfriend. Usagi thought Minako's logic wasn't very sound.
Meanwhile the professor had created another daimon egg. Kaolinite said she had already found the next target with a pure heart. The egg flew off to the auto repair shop and embedded itself into the car.

 Minako and Usagi were sneaking around outside the garage. "Little kitties," said Haruka, "how long are you going to hide?" Usagi popped her head around the corner giggling and made a meowing sound. Haruka walked outside, "I'm Ten'ou Haruka, in first year of high school. You wanted to know about me, right? What else do you want to know?"
Minako and Usagi raised their hands as if asking a question in school. Minako asked, "Who was that girl with you? What kind of relationship? Girlfriend?" Usagi repeated everything that Minako said.
Haruka seemed surprised, "Girlfriend? Michiru?"
Usagi and Minako were heartbroken. [calling a person of the opposite gender by their first name is considered intimate in Japanese] Minako asked, "Is it the kind of relationship where you can call her by her first name?"
"Maybe it's even more than that," said Haruka.
 "But don't give up," Haruka continued, "There's still a chance for you two."
Michiru walked into the auto repair shop, "Don't believe it! Haruka always says that to cute girls."
Minako asked Michiru, "Are you Haruka's girlfriend?" Usagi added, "Please answer yes or no."
"No," said Michiru. Minako was very happy and said, "Alright! I'll win this love!"
Usagi chimed in, "Yeah!"
Minako quickly pointed out, "Usagi! You have Mamoru!"
Usagi thought to herself, "Minako is being extraordinarily strict today... just like Rei-chan."

 Rei sneezed. Ami and Mako were wondering where Minako and Usagi were. Ami thought that since they were both missing they might be in trouble, but Rei said they were probably just chasing some handsome boy.
Haruka sat with Michiru, Usagi, and Minako as Kameda-san examined Haruka's Miata in the auto repair shop. "Mr. Kameda dreams of being a mechanic whose racing tune-ups are famous around the world," said Haruka.  In the distance, cars were racing on a track. "That's why I like to come here. Across from here, I can see the swaying mirage of the race track. The wind blowing across the track is like a fragrance..."
"Haruka has a dream to be one of the top motosports drivers," said Michiru.

 "No," said Haruka sharply, "I used to have that dream."
"So, what's your dream now?" asked Usagi.
"To do what can only be done by myself," stated Haruka, "I will endure any sacrifice, even if I have to lose something..."
Michiru put her hand on Haruka's.
"He really seems handsome," sighed Minako. Usagi nodded. "Not more than Mamoru, though..." she added.
