Serena looked up at the 333 meter (1000') tall Tokyo Tower. "Are you sure you want to go alone?" asked Haruka. Serena said she did, then ran off into the tower. "Are you sure about this?" Michiru asked Haruka, "That girl is going to die."

"Dumpling hair will have to be sacrificed," replied Haruka.

"Get in the elevator," commanded Kaolinite's voice, "it will take you to heaven!" Kaolinite laughed evilly. Serena entered the tower elevator and began the long ascent. Meanwhile, the Sailor Scouts were gathered outside. All the entrances to the elevators had been sealed with steel doors. Jupiter wanted to break in, but Mars said there was a special barrier and that they would have to take the stairs up. Luna and Artemis were there too and they reminded Sailor Venus that she was critical for their plan.
Serena reached the observation deck and saw Tuxedo Mask trapped in a glass crystal. Kaolinite said she would shatter the "statue" unless Serena gave up her pure heart. Serena said that she would sacrifice herself to save Tuxedo Mask.

The daimon extracted Serena's pure heart!

In a flash, Sailor Uranus intercepted the heart crystal. "You!," shouted Kaolinite. Neptune stood to block any attack from the daimon and asked Sailor Uranus what the crystal looked like. Uranus gazed deep into the centre of the crystal. "It's not a talisman" announced Sailor Uranus. "How can that be when it is so bright!" demanded Kaolinite. Sailor Neptune said that the brightness must be a reflection of the pureness of the heart.

"Hah," growled Kaolinite, "I still won't let you live, Sailor Moon!" Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune were shocked. "Sailor... Moon?!" "That girl is not Sailor Moon," a voice rang out from the shadows. Kaolinite looked up to see four figures half-hidden in the darkness. "You chased an innocent girl trying to catch me, and in the name of the Moon, I'll punish you!"
