MYSTIC CAVE
Mystic Cave is located in West Virginia. The cave has 2 entrances with a medium-sized stream flowing through the cave. Entering the main entrance will bring you to the lip of a small waterfall which can be downclimbed. At this point the entrance stream joins another stream flowing in the cave. Going downstream leads to some nice passage and another waterfall. Going upstream leads to several chambers developed along the stream passage and more waterfalls. Eventually the second entrance will be found following the upstream route. There are some waist deep pools along the way. Mystic Cave is closed from April 1st until September 15th due to bats. The endangered Virginia Long-Eared Bat uses the cave as a breeding ground during this time. The cave has over a mile of surveyed passage.ENJOY THE PHOTOS!
