CARPENTER'S / SWAGO CAVE SYSTEM

Carpenter's / Swago Cave System is located in West Virginia and has three entrances into the cave. Two of the entrances are vertical and require ropes to enter. The other entrance is a horizontal entrance and is difficult terrain to enter the cave. The Swago entrance is a 60-foot pit with a waterfall flowing to the cave. Continuing along the Swago side requires four more rappels to gain access to the Carpenter's side. There is a large passage developed off the main stream between drop two and three in Swago. The Carpenter's entrance is a 120-foot drop to the cave floor. This drop is usually done in two stages. Several large passages are developed on the Carpenter's side of the cave. This cave system has approximately 5 miles of passage. ENJOY THE PHOTOS!
