I am pleased to announce the release of XBIT v3.3, 
an extension of Tcl and Tk for image acquisition, 
processing, presentation and production. A free package 
of XBIT (binary) and its related Tcl scripts documents are 
available at http://www.geocities.com/~chengye/soft.html

This release is the XBIT v3.4, an update of XBIT v3.3
The major changes include:

New Features:

 0) Added DICOM image format;
 1) Updated TIFF image handler to support multi-image TIFF, GEOTIFF,
    multi strips and tiles;
 2) Added a dicom command to read DICOM image tags in Tcl lists;
 3) Added a tiff command to read TIFF and GEOTIFF image tags in Tcl lists;
 4) Updated ddw (DirectDraw image widget) to support all rimage data types
    and added options of -low and -high to select a range of data for
    display;
 5) Added -list option to "rimage hist";
 6) Updated "rimage giso" to handle band-range specification;
 7) Completed "rimage classify" function to support Euclidean, Parallelpipe,
    Mahalanobis and Bayes classifiers;
 8) Significantly speed up "rimage georef" in processing large size images;
 9) Added map2screen and file2screen functions to gimg;
10) Modified View to rescale the Viewport when a pixmap is greater than
    the Windows 16MB bitmap size limilation (Windows 3.x and 9x).
11) Optimized gimg's image animation function for slow machines. Supported
    image formats for animation include Gif, Tiff and MPEG.

Bugs fixes

    Fixed several bugs to make XBit more stable.

The updated DLLs include xbit76e.zip, xbit80e.zip, xbit81e.zip,
xbit82e.zip and xbit83e.zip for tcl7.6, 8.0, 8.1, 8.2.3, 8.3.3
respectively. Other updated files include xbitlib.zip and 
xbitdoc.zip.
