Josiah Ballinger died sometime prior to December 7, 1748, when his will was probated. He leaves 100 acres adjoining Thomas Babb to his son James upon his coming of age, being part of his home plantation. To James Wright Sr., whom he calls his father-in-law, he leaves half of his plantation. To his son Josiah, named as eldest son, he leaves the remainder of his plantation with the house, after the decease of his wife, Mary. He makes a bequest to his daughter Sarah, and names his wife Mary executrix. Witnesses, James Wright Sr., John Williams, and Rachell Clifton. Sureties on the bond of the executrix were James Wright Sr. and Evan Thomas Jr.

The will of his wife Mary Wright was probated March 6, 1764, and made bequests to her children, leaving the home plantation to her grandson Thomas, his father being dead. Witnesses, Elinor Rogers, Sussannah Bevan, and Elizabeth Pennell. The executors were Jesse Pugh and William Pickering, [p.28] who entered into bond with James McGin and Joseph Babb as sureties.

Thomas Babb, 600 acres on Babb's Run, in Frederick County, Va. His will was probated November 4, 1760, and left his home plantation to his son Sampson Babb. He made bequests to his sons Philip, Joseph, and Peter, and to his daughter Elizabeth. Witnesses were James Steward and Janet Steward.
