Underdog

What’s that up in the sky? Is it a bird? A plane? No, it’s Underdog!

Audio Adrenaline is back with another action-packed project, mixing groove-laden tracks with solid lyrics, in a style that’s all Audio A.

The disc starts off with Mighty Good Leader, a song that promises that, in the tradition of Underdog, help is on the way. "Now this someone / Knows where you come from / Doesn’t care where you’ve been... He’s the only one gonna come save the day"

The title track combines strong guitar riffs with a very catchy beat, reminiscent of Never Gonna Be As Big As Jesus from bloOm.

The radio-hit Get Down is not only catchy and uplifting, it is sure to be a youth-group sing-along favorite.

In addition, other Christian rock luminaries join the guys on several songs. The songs Good Life and Hands and Feet was co-written and produced by Charlie Peacock; the O.C. Supertones again join Audio A (see Blitz on Some Kind of Zombie) for Jesus Movement; and the traditional hymn It Is Well With My Soul features the vocal talents of Jennifer Knapp.

Also on the disc are a very credible cover of the Who’s Let My Love Open The Door, and a "ska-billy"/swing remake of DC-10 (a la The W’s) which asks the musical question, "do you know where you’re gonna go?"

Finishing off the disc is a tongue-in-cheek salute to David Noebel called The Houseplant Song. It is worth the price of admission (or the cost of the CD) for this track alone. The vocal and sound effects talent of Bob Herdman, as well as the background contributions of the rest of Audio A make this a fun, thoroughly enjoyable trip.
