The Troop Guidelines and Uniform Guidelines are discussed and agreed by the PLC.
We expect every Scout to adhere to these rules.

Uniform Policy (updated by PLC 12/99)
Your Patrol gains and loses points based on your uniform.

General Rules

A Scout is to be Trusted:
· Obey the Rules of the games

· Obey the law of the Land, e.g. no smoking, drinking etc., 

A Scout is Loyal:
· Don’t be late

· Wear the agreed uniform for each activity 

A Scout is friendly and considerate:
· Be considerate to the general public when on Scout activities

A Scout belongs to the Word-wide family of Scouts:
· Don’t bully

· No punching, biting, spitting, kicking or fighting

A Scout has courage in all difficulties:

A Scout makes good use of time and is careful of possessions and property:
· Respect equipment 

· Sew all badges onto uniform within a week of getting them

A Scout has self-respect and respect for others:
· Respect Leaders, PLs and all other Scouts

· Be quiet when the whistle is blown

· Pay attention during announcements

· No bad language 

· No sweets or gum during Meetings

Cookham Scout Troop Uniform Policy (Dec 99)

Uniform is an important part of belonging to our Troop. Please stick to these simple rules to avoid costing your Patrol points! Remember, check the programme.

Uniform # 1. Full Uniform
Arrival, Flag Break & Inspection (as noted on programme)
Scout shirt, Cookham Scout neckerchief, brown leather woggle, school trousers or an equally smart (plain dark) equivalent,  or Scout trousers.
(no denim, jeans, key or wallett chains, long tape belts etc.,) 

The Scout Record book should be kept in the pocket of the Scout shirt. 

These Rules also apply to visits (e.g. firestation) on Friday nights.

after inspection - option to change into 2nd Uniform as detailed below.a

For Church / Scout Parades: as above but with black/grey  school trousers and shoes. (no trainers)

Uniform # 2. Hut & Campsite etc.,
Cookham Group/Camp T-shirt/Sweatshirt  (no key or wallett chains, long tape belts with metal ends etc.,) 
For Formosa / Campsite evenings : as above, boots and a waterproof are a good idea.
For off-site activity evenings
Uniform # 2 but including Cookham neckerchief. Any other clothing as notified on programme or before the activity. (
e.g. climbing walls, swimming, football etc.,) 

Safety: sweets and gum should not be eaten during Scout Meetings. No long tape belts with metal ends, key or wallet chains etc.,
There are no uniform requirements for PLC's or PL / APL training events.
Uniform Rules for all events will be shown on the programme. If in doubt, ask your PL or a Leader.

DRINKING : 
(at Camps/Events)
  • Appear before the PLC immediately
  • Phone parents to collect from Camp immediately. If this is not possible remove from all activities and work with Quartermaster until he can leave.
  • (back in Cookham) SMOKING: (Leaders) SWEARING: EQUIPMENT / ENVIRONMENT:
    (at Camps/Events)

     Appear before the PLC to discuss issue - then according to severity;
    (at Troop Meetings) · Work for Group to Pay for replacement or repair as appropriate
