THE TRUCK STORIES
The Original truck started out as a car (a Team Losi JR-X) that I bought used (very used). I stuffed one of my Novak 610RV speed controllers in and put some "Midnight Pumpkin" tires on HPI wheels. With a Kyosho 360 Monster Truck motor and an eight cell pack it is more than capable of pulling the boat (which is an interesting animal in it's own right) and trailer. The hardest thing I had to do was mix the Turquoise paint!
It wasn't long before I was blasting the truck around in the back yard one day (my stuff is too heavy to race, and I'd get waxed even if it wasn't) and I got the idea to build a trailer so the truck could pull the boat. Of course this would require some form of suspension, and I had a couple of spare Losi coilovers, so I decided to build a "scale four-link" suspension. I headed for the hardware store for some aluminum channel and a bunch of 4-40 socket head bolts and nylon lockwashers (too expensive at the hobby shop!). Two more HPI wheels and Pro-line tires and the trailer was done. It also doubles as a videocamera carrier (the shocks really help there!)
