Massachusetts TV station airs conibear trap story

2/22/00 Channel 10, which serves southeastern Massachusetts, aired a story about the attempt to repeal the law banning the conibear trap on its 11:00 PM News last night. Jeffrey LaFleur, executive director of the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers' Association was featured.

    He stood on a dike between ice covered bogs and explained how muskrats burrow through dikes creating erosion that if unchecked will eventually cause the dikes to cave in. He also showed the damage that these pest do on the bogs themselves......
