French Television
1 films story on cranberry harvest
10/13/99 The French will soon be introduced to
cranberries and be able to see what the harvest is like on TF1, the French equivalent to
ABC, CBS or NBC. Emily Sperling, Communications Director of the Cape Cod Cranberry
Grower's Association, organized a visit from the French Television 1 crew to film at the
CCCGA Cranberry Harvest Festival and at Paul and Linda Rinta's cranberry bogs.
The segment will be aired on the noontime news, which
in France has a similar home viewership as the evening news in the United States. It is
likely to be about three minutes long, which is twice the length of similar stories on
American television.
Pictorially, it should include some of the best harvest
photography as the cameraman donned waders and risked his expensive camera crossing the
ditch to get what should be superb video of the harvest from the "berries point of
view."
