In the name
of our lord Amen, the Seventh day of February in the year of our lord
one thousand Seven hundred and eighty Six I Nathan Bratcher of Cent
County upon Delaware State in the province of Pensylvania planter being
Weak in body but of portlant mind and memory thanks be to the Almighty
God therefore Calling to mind the mortality of the body & Knowing
that it is appoint for all men once to die I do ordain this my last will
and testament first I do Recommend my soul to Almighty God from whence
it came hoping through the Merits of Christ Jesus at the last day see
Eternal life and I do dispose of my Worldly Goods and Chattles both real
and personal in manner and form as follows Viz-Imprimis It
is my will and desire that my wife Mary have all my land the Tract of
land that I own Called Fords Shance go up more or lefs and I betroth to
my Loving Wife Mary Bratcher to She and to her disposal the whole
personal Estate except such legacies as should be mentioned hereafter I
give and bequeath of Sarah Atkins one cow and calf and Thomas Atickins
Great Coat Clos Bodied Coat and jacket and to bequeath unto Henry Jones
one Black mare Called tib Bridle and Saddle a (Good Suit of Reasonable)
Good cloths I (then) I do Constitute and Appoint my dear and well and
beloved wife Mary Bratcher to be my Sole Executrix and see this my last
will and Testament Executed and do by these presence (disenul) all other
wills the Testaments made before by me made Cerifying and Conferming
this and none other to be my last will and Testament in in witnefs
Wherof I hav here unto set my hand and seal the day and year before
written signed Sealed and delivered in persents of us |

Personally Appeared before me Thomas Rodney Esq. Register for the Probate
of Wills and Granting letters of Administration in and for the county of
Kent James Herrington and Booth and John Herrington the subscribing
witnefses to the above and aforegoing Instrument of writing and being
Sworn upon the Holy Evangelists Almighty God do say that they saw Nathan
Bracher or Bratcher (by way of making his mark sign and saw him Seal and
heard him Publish Pronounce and declare the same as and for his last will
and Testament That at the time of his so doing and saying he was to the
best of their Belief of sound and disposing mind and memory That they also
saw the said Nathan Bratcher (by way of making his mark) sign the above
Instrument of writing purposing to be a Note Respecting some words that
was interlined in the will--that they at his instan and request and in his
presence Signed their names to the same Instruments of Writing as
witnesses to the same In Testimony Whereof I have herewith set my
hand at Dover the Sixteenth day of February Anno Domini 1786 |

Be it
remembered that on the Sixteenth day of february Seventeen Hundred and
eighty Six the last will and Testament of Nathan Bratcher deceased was
proved and Approved in due form and Letters Testamentary at the same time
Granted to Mary Bratcher Executrix therein maned who was Sworn to Execute
the same agreeable to law! |
