You move around the city- taking a good look at everything. After all, it's going to be a while
until the next time you see it. Within minutes, you find yourself at Shila's doorstep. You knock,
awaiting her answer.
'Yes?' She says, opening the door. She smiles as she realizes that it's you. 'Hello Spencer.';
She says, a grin on her face. 'To what do I owe the honor?'
You begin to explain. 'Well, the king has asked me to go on an errand for him.' That's
understating the case a little, but Shila will probably notice.
'What kind of errand? One where you face imminent death and horrible peril?'
'Is there any other kind?'
Shila laughs. 'Okay, but you still haven't answered my question. Why are you here instead of
off on your little quest?'
'The king has allotted one person to come with me, and-'
Shila interrupts you mid sentence. 'You want me to come with you? I'm so very honored!
The great and wonderful Spencer Nichols wants such a lowly cleric as I to accompany him? I
am not worthy!'
Shila always had a way with sarcasm.
'Yes.' You reply simply.
'Oh good. I was hoping someone would give me an excuse to get out of this town. When do
we go?'
'Tomorrow morning. We head directly to Ersin and then to the High Barrier.'
Shila shakes her head. 'No- Ersin's not a good idea. There's a lot of crime there. Even the
governor's a criminal. We should go to the temple at Eleein. But hey, it's your mission. You
choose.'
