In The Shadows
Standing in the shadows,
Of the darkest night
Sneaking around corners
Staying out of sight.
Sharing stolen glances
When we should ever meet
Never saying "Hello"
If we pass upon the street.
Our love is so forbidden
No one can ever know
Our passion and devotion
We can never show.
For I have a marriage
And you have your job
And if the world knew of us
These things they both would rob.
So we settle for those moments
When we can sneak away
Always in the darkest night
Never in the light of day.
Sharing out sweet kisses
And the touches of our love
Knowing we cannot ever have
The blessings from above.
