Geyser Hill

Geyser Hill

This vintage photograph, taken by William Henry Jackson circa 1873, shows the steam rising from Geyser Hill.

There are over 40 geysers on Geyser Hill. Two off them, Beehive and Giantess, are among the largest in the world. Giantess is currently rare, with only a few eruptions per year, but Beehive is fairly frequent. Beehive is currently erupting about once a day. A small geyser near Beehive's cone gives a 20 minute warning of an impending eruption. Ask a ranger for more details. If you learn what to look for and are lucky, you may get to see one of the most spectacular geysers in the park.

Other large and/or relatively frequent geysers on Geyser Hill include: Lion, Plume, Aurum and Anemone.
