Country Life
Country life is different, very much so;
very vivid yet very mellow.
We at first hear not a single thing
as our ears adjust and cease to ring.
There's the soft swishing of the trees
as the limbs swing softly in the breeze.
A brook is bubbling so clear and clean,
air too is clear and the sky can be seen.
There is no trash to surround the trees
as softly blows the gentle breeze.
There are no cans to mar flowers faces.
It's quiet and clean in nature's places.
The flowers frolic and the many deer dance.
Here animals are the inhabitants.
There noise is soft yet it is great.
From there whispers there is no escape.
Even the rabbits thumps we can't ignore
as they bounce along the forest floor.
Very few people are here to be found.
They prefer the city - convenience and sound,
but that's alright, entirely so.
People would destroy nature's glow.
So remain in the city they certainly may
but I'll take the country any ol' day.
