Don Juan,
together with A Feast During the Plague
and Mozart and Salieri,were
parts of the CrossRoads, the
first Russian-Austrian "joint-venture" on the musical field. The project
was dedicated to Year of Mozart.
Pushkin new Mozart´s "Don Giovanni"; the scene where
Leporello invites Cammander´s Statue to stay on watch comes textually
close to Da Ponte´s libretto - which in its turn borrowed a lot from
Moliere´s comedy.
