Task Cards are easy to make and extremely effective resources for tactual students at all levels. Begin by listing exactly what you want your students to learn about a specific topic, concept or skill. Then translate your list into either questions or answers. Use this list to create your task cards.
Cut colored tagboard into three by twelve inch rectangles.
On the left side in large easy to read letters print one of the words from your list.
On the right side print the corresponding derivation of the word.
Laminate if you want to use them over and over in your classroom.
Cut each rectangle into two parts using different lines, curves, and indentions to create a puzzle effect.
Package them with the title included.
Variations include having students create their own task cards using vocabulary or concepts from their text. You can also use pictures on one side of the task card and words on the other.
