• 30 YEARS... and ELVIS rocks on! You know it by heart: every year's August 16th marks the Anniversary when Elvis "left the building".

  Graceland, as always, is the focal point of many activities to remember him. A couple of years ago a new statue was unveiled at Beale Street in Memphis, a special Elvis Concert via the digital age was offered, a new Elvis-themed restaurant attracted thousands, and Elvis was all over in the minds and hearts of millions of fans throughout this this rockin' world.

• "ELVIS: 30 # 1 HITS".- The special release of Elvis # 1 recordings to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his passing away became the great seller of 2002! All over the world this CD collection has been a "must-have", not only for the millions of Elvis' fans but for all kinds of music lovers, and the record stores were taken aback by the great demand for this compilation. From the first track, "All Shook Up" through the last, "Hard Headed Woman", the incredible style and versatilty of The King shines on. One listen to his legendary versions of "Jailhouse Rock", "Don't Be Cruel", "Love Me Tender", "It's Now or Never" or "A Big Hunk O' Love", and new die-hard fans are born instantly!

• And then: "2ND TO NONE".- A great follow up collection of Elvis' Greatest, plus the Paul Oakenfold remix of "RUBBERNECKIN'". Do we need to say more?

• 2005 gave us an extraordinary missing angle to the Legend: "ELVIS BY THE PRESLEYS", and if that was not enough, "LOVE, ELVIS" and "HITSTORY"!

  And... Just to mention a few of the countless links:

• "LILO & STITCH".- Another great hit of the new millennium was this Walt Disney production, greatly enriched by the smart addition of Elvis' music in the soundtrack. Who could not love a cartoon character that's a fan of The King? Surely Elvis would have been real proud of his contribution to the success of this great film! Us? We just "Can't Help Falling In Love" with the zany antics of Stitch rockin' and rollin' to a handulful of Elvis' classics!

  Which in turn gave us...? Easy, "LILO & STICH 2"!

• "A LITTLE LESS CONVERSATION".- And yet another big Elvis Presley seller of 2002 was the remix of this 1968 Elvis recording with JXL. The single went all the way to the Top of the Charts in most countries around the world, including the European Union countries which indeed were united by their common love of the single, as well as the Latin American countries and even the most remote places such as Australia, the down-under island. The Orient could not escape to the charm of this release and teens and adults alike went for it!

• GRACELAND.- The incredibly popular Graceland Tour has a new addition: you can listen to an exciting guided tour on personal headphones describing the highlights of Graceland, as told by Elvis himself. You hear some intimate recollections of Elvis as you walk through the mansion and have the opportunity of watching many of his personal mementos, the places where he spent most of his time after his rise to super-stardom, and his amazing collection of awards. This is as close as you can get to being there with The King himself! This new addition to the ever-popular Tour was premiered in conjunction with the Elvis Presley Enterprises' Summit hosted by Priscilla Presley last year in Memphis. These meetings included various activities at Graceland, The Peabody Hotel, The Sun Studio, the B.B.King's Blues Club, the Hunt-Phelan Mansion and a cruise down the Mississippi River. ˇLa próxima vez que vayas a Memphis, llégale a varios de estos lugares! • ELVIS IMPERSONATORS.- If there ever was an industry created by fans, guess which one it is? No other person has ever had such a legion of impersonators as The King. You can even forget about Las Vegas where seeing them is a must, as you can find them all over the world and, great golly, most of them are really good! In fact, some are soooo good that it makes you feel that you are experiencing an Elvis sighting, as your heart fills with nostalgia for The King.

• Now, you might want to check some of the thousands of Elvis sites and videos by googling on youTube.com. Do it, but beware, it's addictive!

• SCOTTY MOORE IS BACK!.- Scotty Moore, one of three original backing memebers of Elvis Presley, came back, together with his old teammate D.J. Fontana, to record a new album called "ALL THE KING'S MEN". Scotty had retired after accompanying Elvis in his comeback television special of 1968. Now the guitar master is returning with guest stints by such rock greats as The Band, Jeff Beck, Cheap Trick, Keith Richards and Ron Wood. (Scotty Moore, uno de los tres acompañantes iniciales de Elvis Presley, se está reuniendo con su viejo colega D.J. Fontana para grabar un nuevo álbum titulado "ALL THE KING'S MEN". • "ELVIS, THE MUSICAL" in London! The plans for this great production were announced at the Elvis Presley Enterprises' Worldwide Licensing, Entertainment & Music Publishing Summit in Memphis and the musical lives up to "The King" in many ways. A visit to London was never complete unless you visit its many music areas, including those around the Soho district, such as "The Rock Circus". And "ELVIS, THE MUSICAL" became the highlight of any trip. In this must-see show the life of "The King" is presented in three stages: as the Young Elvis, when he was making his first stabs and "That's Alright Mamma" was in the works; as the Middle Elvis (incredibly well played by Tim Whitnall) which centers around the whirlwind era of his ascent to Superstardom; and as the Mature Elvis, where P. J. Proby gives us "The King" in his later years. The audience is treated to all kind of emotions and very few can fight back the tears when P.J.plays an incredibly poignant true-to life Elvis. Whether you are a die-hard Elvis fan or you just happen to live in this century, "ELVIS, THE MUSICAL" is the kind of event to experience!!! • EL CORONEL PARKER.- El legendario Tom Parker (cuyo verdadero nombre era Andreas Cornelius Van Kuik), quien con increíble visión dirigió la carrera de Elvis desde 1955, convirtiéndolo en el cantante más popular de este siglo, falleció a la edad de 87 años. Desde aquellos históricos días en que Elvis empezó a enloquecer a la juventud de los Estados Unidos con sus explosivas interpretaciones que Sam Phillips había lanzado bajo el sello de Sun Records, Tom Parker intuyó que aquel joven no era tan sólo un intérprete más, sino alguien destinado a convertirse en el "Rey" del nuevo ritmo denominado Rock 'N' Roll. Fue precisamente Parker quien negoció la adquisición por parte de la RCA Victor del contrato de grabación que Elvis tenía firmado con Phillips, quien logró la participación de los hermanos Aberbach de la empresa Hill and Range Songs en la creación y financiamiento de Elvis Presley Music y Gladys Music, donde fueron firmadas las canciones que se convertirían en grandes éxitos del Rey, quien dirigió su ingreso a Hollywod y su participación en múltiples cintas taquilleras, quien organizó el retorno del Rey a fines de los 60's y quien lo convirtió en la máxima atracción de Las Vegas. • EL VEZ LEEVES!.- From the multi-cultural background of Chula Vista, California has come out the latest Elvis impersonator. This one, a former art gallery clerk called Robert López, after a visit to Memphis, the home town of the "King", decided what he wanted to do with his life, and putting together his admiration for Elvis and his Latin roots, became EL VEZ. Accompanied by Lisa María and Priscillita, his songs are an unique blend of Rock, Latin folk and tongue-in-cheek humor. Just listen to two of the titles: "GRACIASLAND" and "MISERY TRAIN". ˇAjuaaa!
