GALAXIA MUSICAL was founded in 1983 by JOSE G. CRUZ AYALA, after other successful stints in several areas of the music industry. His Biography or Rockography has been closely linked to the Mexican music scene for over 40 years.
GALAXIA MUSICAL has become, in a relatively short time, the TOP INDEPENDENT music publisher in México.

José G. Cruz STARTED in the music business in 1959, as singer and composer of the famous Mexican rock group "LOS LOCOS DEL RITMO".
In 1961, Cruz FOUNDED and published the first Mexican rock magazine: the succesful "LA HISTORIA DEL ROCK 'N' ROLL" (possibly the FIRST rock history ever published).
A year later, Cruz began a ten-year career as a Rock Record Producer (working the last five years with CBS). He produced many successful recordings in several styles that were invariably rock-based, doubling also as a composer and lyricist. He discovered and produced many rock artists, such as Los Apson, Vianey Valdez, Los Sleepers, Los Juniors, Olivia Molina, Polo, Los Hitters, Martha y Los Ventura, Las Ventanas, Sergio Pérez, Wence y Los Supremos, La Máquina del Sonido, Los Tequila, Los Gitanos and many others, with whom he created multiple national hits. The songs and lyrics of Pepe Cruz, as he is affectionately known in the music industry, have also been covered by artists as varied as Los Hermanos Carrión, Lorenzo de Monteclaro, Palito Ortega and even Topo Gigio.
In 1973, he became EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT to Mr. JOHN BUSH, President of EMI Records México, overseeing Promotion and Publicity and coordinating campaigns for local and international artists.
A year later, he became MANAGING DIRECTOR of EMI Music Publishing, where he started and consolidated the growth of local repertoire and acquired many prestigious lucrative international catalogues. He became Supervisor for all Latin American Music Publishing Operations during his last five years with EMI, and during his last two years with EMI, Cruz published the songs from the first three albums by the international superstar Luis Miguel, working very closely with Enrique Okamura, Luis Miguel's producer.
He has served various terms as PRESIDENT of EMMAC, the Mexican Association of Music Publishers (he is currently serving his Fourth term, 1999 - 2001), achieving several goals, including reforms to Mexican copyright law approved by the President of México and the National Congress. From 1992 to 1996, Cruz became Secretary of FLADEM, the International Federation of Latin American Music Publishers.
