The following days were quite exciting as Bob and i settled into the great white north. Thursday promised a full schedule with an afternoon taping of a Canadian TV show, the Comedy Kitchen, and a gig at a military base that evening. We awoke early and refreshed and grabbed a couple of big cups of Tim Horton's coffee. Now i must admit that while i've always considered myself a mere coffee whore, as any coffee is sufficient to satisfy my yen for caffeine, i have now learned the meaning of coffee addiction in sampling the coffee at Tim Horton's. I dunno what they put in that stuff but i'd put it up against a heroin addiction any day of the week. This stuff is good. It got to the point where Bob and I would be exhausted from a day of driving all over Canada only to pass by one at 3 am with Bob screaming "How 'bout a cup of coffee, gene... it'll help ya' stop shakin." Needless to say, a couple of cans were all we claimed in customs on the way home but, of course, as we came down of the Horton's, we looked like we were smuggling contraband. The guiy who gave me the anal probe actually remembered us from days earlier. |
That's Ben Guyatt on Bob's left, host of the Comedy Kitchen as well as a genuinely nice guy. Ben is like the Dick Clark of Ontario, only funnier and centuries younger, as he hosts a televised comedy show at Club 54 in Burlington, Ontario. Bob made turkey quesedillas on the show and Ben asked me to do a bit part as a refrigerator repairman on the episode, (needless to say, the crack of my ass was all over Canadian TV, so i can't see people really being hungry after the show, except maybe for a nice butt steak!) Anyway, bob really was a treat to see on the taping and i do promise to try to get a copy of it so that we can show it at an upcoming comedy night. The gentlemen on Bob's right is the shows producer, gene, he also owns Club 54... | ![]() |

The taping and the show that night went quite well, so bob and i had all Friday to kill at the aforementioned Pleasant Stay. Don't be fooled by my previous entries, it was so much more than a 5' by 10' room with two beds. There were also leisure activities offered. After Bob schooled me at "one on one" , we played some basketball!, err... i mean we went swimming. At any rate, the room was so small that bob rolled over three times and accidentally woke up with his arms around me. In his defense, i pushed the beds together after the first two times! Tomorrow, club 54!!! |
