Solo 1
A brief solo from a recent jam
(251 KB Wav file).
Chopping Wood
A choppy riff thing using minor
seventh chords (349 KB Wav file).
Spacey
A spacey thing using a
phaser and a digital delay (338 KB Wav file).
20th Floor
A guitar jam from a song I wrote called 20th Floor. It's a tune about a guy who goes crazy and decides to jump from the 20th floor.
(103 KB Wav file).
Gloomy Riff 1
A Sabbath inspired guitar riff. I was trying to get a dark sound across.
(191 KB Wav file).
Gloomy Riff 2
More of the gloomy riff jam. This jam was recorded late at night about two years ago. The original track was recorded purely spontaneously.
All other tracks were added at a later date. (468 KB Wav file).
Reflections
This was a bluesy thing I wrote a few years back. It was the first piece I wrote where I felt like I was really making progress.
(289 KB Wav file).
Knife
A small bit from a song we wrote called "Victim of the knife". We had fun with the echo box.
(290 KB Wav file).
Love like bronchitis
This riff here was recorded while I had bronchitis hence the name. Not your typical love song. I used a cardboard box to get the gloomy tone.
(145 Wav file).
Love like bronchitis - 2
When I was fooling around with the vocals for this song I had a hoarse throat which made my voice sound more sinister than it normally does. This song is about obsession and the madness that usually entails.
(791 Wav file).
Terry on bass
My brother in law plays bass. He is the next Les Claypool.
(109 KB Wav file).
Jammin with Charlie
I used to jam with this guy Charlie. He had the total Charlie Watts drum kit which consisted of about 3 beat to shit drums. He could keep a rock solid beat though.
(139 KB Wav file).
Feedback
The feedback from the guitar used to annoy the animals in the Pet Store that we used to practice at.
(142 KB Wav file).
Someone Else
A small riff from a song called
"I'm not someone else". We were trying for a punk sound.
(114 KB Wav file).
Someone Else - 2
More of the song "I'm not someone else". This is mostly a guitar and drum jam. This song caused a major argument between me and someone close. I was trying to get a thick guitar sound by using two overlapping rhythm guitars.
(418 KB Wav file).
Dancing with Mr. J
On this tune we were looking for a reggae feel. I'm not quite sure we accomplished that but it was a departure from our usual style. We could have used a bass guitar that night.
(418 KB Wav file).
Pigs in black
This primitive jam was recorded about 8 years ago as a statement against those who use religion for personal profit.
It all happened quickly after watching a televangelist on TV. A fundamentalist roommate who felt the proceedings were evil only added to the mood. (462 KB Wav file).
More pigs
The inclusion of real pigs in the song caught everyone by surprise. The first song where I actually thought my leads sounded decent.
(468 KB Wav file).
Climax of pigs
The conclusion of Pigs in Black. Although the song seems funny now it was an accurate encapsulation of everything I believed at the time.
(827 KB Wav file).
