I am a thirty-year old Hanson FAN--and that may be a gross understatement.
While I am not one of the shrieking, poster-holding crazed fans, I am a serious fan. In fact, I flew from Dallas, Texas, to Boston to be at the first US stop on their first official tour. My husband went with me--he's quite a good sport. He listened to MON and 3CG in his car for weeks before the show and learned all the words to all their songs--what a prince!
We arrived early--thankfully--there was a ton of traffic. We were definitely out of place in the crowd, but any awkwardness I may have felt was gone as soon as the show began. Young enough to enjoy their original songs, and old enough to know the covers, I had a blast. I hope they release MORE THAN ANYTHING this fall. Both my husband and I cried when Isaac sang--it was fabulous. The show was nothing less than amazing. Not a lot of glitz--just really good music. It reminded me of the supergroups of the late 70's--no light shows, fireworks, and tons of special effects to distract fans--just put up a great set of songs and entertain! And entertain they did. Anyone who doubts Hanson's talent, or staying power need only attend one of their shows to see that they posses enormous amounts of both. In a summer where major bands can't give away concert tickets--Hanson is selling out virtually every show it puts up. If they come to Dallas, I'll go again. I might even brave the hoards of spaghetti-strap clad preteens to get a front row seat this time. And my husband? He says he'll be there, too. (He really IS a prince!)
