T: Hey how's it going?
HJ: Hey what's up, Taylor? What's going on?
T: Uh, nothing.
HJ: Where are you calling me from right now?
T: Um, New York
HJ: What hotel? (laughs) No, I'm only kidding!
T: (laughs)
HJ: You know I had to ask that! I'd have listeners saying, "He didn't ask what hotel he was in!" So we could flood the hotel looking for you. Say hi to everyone coming to your show on Sunday, ‘cause you've got the big show at the Civic Center.
T: Cool. Yeah, yeah, we're going to be playing the Civic Center on, uh, Sunday, that's gonna be awesome.
HJ: Out of all the places that you've been to on this current tour, is there any one place in particular, uh, that you just had the best time at?
T: We've played a lot of cool venues, like, uh, Red Rocks, in Colorado, which is built up against a mountain.
HJ: Is that in Denver?
T: Yeah, Denver, Colorado.
HJ: I know what you're talking about - I visited a friend out there and it's really cool.
T: It's a really cool venue.
HJ: The mountains kinda look out in the background . .
T: Yeah, you can - you can look over Denver. It's a wild place to play.
HJ: Now here in CT - when are you coming into town here?
T: Um, well, I guess we couldn't tell you that . . well, the show's on Sunday, so that's . . that's about all we could tell you.
HJ: Taylor, come on, man, we're talking about the big radio station in CT, you could tell me! Are you flying into Bradley?
T: (laughs)
HJ: So we could have everyone with the signs - "We love Hanson!" signs, and it'll get on the news, you know what I'm talking about!
T: Oh, I don't know.
HJ: All right . . hey, uh, so what is this rumor about Aimee Osbourne?
T: You know, that has gotten around all over the place. Um, that's just exactly what you said - it's a big rumor. Somebody just . . I think somebody sits around in the those tabloids and just makes stuff up. We've - we've met them a couple times but totally nothing like that at all . . just one of those rumors.
HJ: Taylor, but think about this for a second - How did she come out looking that way, you know, with Ozzie as a father?
T: (laughs)
HJ: That in itself is pretty amazing, right?
T: Um, yeah, well, Ozzie . . I mean, seeing as the fact that he's a man and she's a . . woman, that's a whole different thing, you know . . I mean, there's usually a difference.
HJ: (chuckles) Right. You did the HORDE Fest - you know, with Blues Traveller and John Popper . .
T: Yeah.
HJ: I met John Popper, and we had macaroni and cheese together -
T: Yeah . .
HJ: He obviously had much more than me! I haven't seen him lately - his weight goes up and down by seventy-five pounds. How's he looking, is he okay?
T: No, I think - he looks good!
HJ: Yeah!
T: They were really, really nice guys. We um, have a good friend of ours that knows - that knew Blues Traveller and the HORDE Festival was in the city the same time we were. We were in, um, where were we . . Virginia Beach, and so we said, "Let's go check out the show, let's go meet the guys," and then when we met them they said, you know, "Would you play ‘MMMBop' with us, would you go onstage and play it with us?" and we're like, "Of COURSE!"
HJ: So I was reading some reviews just a couple of minutes ago, on your webpage, cause, you know, I visit . . Hanson.com, or whatever -
T: Hansonline.com.
HJ: Yeah, I do it every day there, Taylor. Critics are saying that your voice is getting a lot deeper . .
T: Well, actually . . the whole voice change thing, I think, happened - it happened about a year ago, so that's kind of - it's kind of funny because people are starting to respond to that now -
HJ: Right.
T: - and that's you know, something that sort of already happened a long time ago.
HJ: What was the last CD, uh, that you bought?
T: The last CD that I bought . . Well, I - we've bought lots - several CD's .
HJ: Who do you listen to in your free time?
T: Um . . you know, it's a wide array of stuff. Anything, I guess, from, like, Bob Dylan, to -
HJ: Big Pun.
T: Radiohead, to um, to No Doubt, to the Wallflowers, to . . I don't know, just - Aerosmith . . anybody.
HJ: Oh, yeah, excellent!
T: R&B to rock to whatever's in between.
HJ: Last movie you saw? Please don't say TITANIC.
T: (laughs) Well, I have seen - we did see TITANIC, but -
HJ: Oh really? Did you cry at the end?
T: I didn't cry . . I, uh, actually, that was one movie that I didn't even get close to crying.
HJ: I welled up at the end, dude.
T: It was good, though! It was a good movie - I mean, of course it was a good movie. It got eleven Academy awards, I mean, geez . . No, the last movie -
HJ: (singing) Every night . . I . .
T: Okay, okay! That's fine.
HJ: (laughs) I'm sorry . .
T: (singing) My heart will go on . .
HJ: (laughs hysterically) Yeah!
T: I'm sorry! Wrong song . .
HJ: Oh, boy . .
T: The last movie we saw, um, was ZORRO - THE MASK OF ZORRO. I want to see, um - I actually hear it's extremely gory, but I still want to see it - I want to see SAVING PRIVATE RYAN.
HJ: Yeah . .
T: Unbelievably, like, the most gory movie ever made, you know.
HJ: All right, so, what about your brothers? Are they hanging around there?
T: Um, they are around.
HJ: Uh, tell them to come on and say hi.
T: Yeah, I'll pass it on to Ike!
(Tay talks faintly in the background.)
HJ: These guys love this. They can't wait for this interview to be over.
I: Hello?
HJ: Ike!
I: Hi, how are you?
HJ: Good, this is Hollywood Joe!
I: Hey, how are you?
HJ: Hey, I got Emily from Summers, one of my Hanson fans, in the studio with me right now. She wants to ask you or anyone a question.
I: Okay.
HJ: Is that cool?
I: That's great.
HJ: All right, you're on, baby!
E: Hi!
I: Hello!
E: Um, okay, well, he didn't tell me he was doing this five minutes ago . .
I: Oh, okay, well, that's the beauty of . . of radio. They - they don't tell you things.
HJ: Yeah, you know disc jockeys.
E: Yeah, typical of Joe too.
I: Right, yeah, no, it sounds like it's very typical of him.
HJ: (background) Thank you.
I: But we LOVE YOU MAN!
HJ: (background) Yeah . .
I: That's - that's why we love you, cause you're so spontaneous!
HJ: Hey Ike, watch this question now - she's been thinking about it all day -
I: Ohhh, great . .
HJ: - I said, "You get one question - "
I: All right, man, I'm bracing myself . .
HJ: Here we go!
E: Okay, the first suggestion my friends had was "Boxers or briefs?" but I decided to veto that out, so you don't have to answer that one, by the way.
I: Okay . .
E: (laughs) Um . . is there any chance that later on, you guys will end up taking the country music route, like others of Tulsa?
HJ: Good question!
I: Oh, uhh . .
E: Later on in your career, do you think?
I: You think - You're asking whether we would maybe do country?
E: Yeah!
HJ: That's a - that's a good question.
I: Ummmm . . you know, probably not!
HJ: The hottest celebrity that you would, like, love to go out with.
I: That I would love to go out with?
HJ: Shania Twain!
I: Uh, Sh - well, Shania Twain is definitely very, very, very gorgeous.
HJ: Yeah . . Liv Tyler!
I: Liv Tyler? I've met her - I've met, actually, both of those.
HJ: She's got the best lips, doesn't she?
I: She's really nice, she's incredibly nice. We actually talked to her for a long time. She was really really cool.
HJ: Does Zac want to answer the question about your live CD coming out, or do you want to handle it?
I: Um, actually, I'm going to handle it, because he's - he's not around, actually, at the moment.
HJ: Oh, okay. What is he doing?
I: He is actually . . uh, kind of . . taking a break.
HJ: Taking a nap, that's what he - (breaks up laughing)
I: No, not taking a nap, no, he's . . he actually just - he actually just didn't come in today.
HJ: So this live CD coming out . . tell us about it, and we'll wrap things up.
I: Okay, well, the live CD is going to be coming out November third. Uh . . the tentative title at the moment - and I think that this is actually going to end up being the title - but the tentative title is, "Live From Albertane." It's going to have, uh, two new original songs nobody has ever heard before, have never been recorded . . and then two - and then about, I think, four other songs which are, uh, just other songs that uh, we've also played on the tour. Which actually have not been recorded by us, either . .
HJ: Excellent . .
I: They're actually covers.
HJ: You guys get your, uh - you busted a lot - by disc jockeys, by the press and uh . . everybody's wishing for your demise. We hope that doesn't happen - we wish you the best of luck. And, uh, Sunday at the Civic Center, you're going to rock CT -
I: Oh yes.
HJ: Uh, we want you guys to be, like, totally into it, which I know you will be.
I: Oh, we definitely will be.
HJ: And once again, say goodbye to everyone in CT and thank them for being such good Hanson fans.
I: We'd like to thank everybody in CT for being really supportive of the band, and we hope to see you guys when we come, and we're looking forward to it. Thanks very much for, uh . . being awesome.
HJ: Hey, can I sing, "I Will Come To You?"
I: Um, well, hopefully it's not directed at me -
HJ: (breaks up laughing)
I: If it's directed at me, you know . . you've got inner problems, but we'll talk about that later!
HJ: (singing) I will come to you . . Sometimes when all your dreams . .
I: (singing) May have seen better days . .
HJ: See, look at that - I sang with Hanson! Good night everybody! Ike, have a good one.
I: All right, well, thanks very much, I will.
HJ: See you Sunday at the Hartford Civic Center. It's Hollywood, with Hanson, on Kiss 95.7
