Love  Poetry From  A To  P - Means :
~ Agape to Philios & Anne to Paula ~

This year's love poetry contest is in honor of the  memory of a dear friend and poet, Ms. Paula J. Richards-Hales who passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 3rd, 2001.  Paula touched my life in a way that probably no other person could have.  God worked through Paula to teach me some very important spiritual lessons.  I was so shocked and saddened by her unexpected departure, yet I rejoice in her metamorphosis to that higher plane where she is forever free in the LORD Jesus Christ -

Anyone may enter this contest as often as they wish.  All entries must be submitted  separately via email.  Poems may manifest any type of love as a theme, be it, AGAPE love, EROS/ROMANTIC love (Nothing Pornographic Please!), or PHILIOS/BROTHERLY-SISTERLY love.   Please type "POETRY CONTEST" in the subject space and email all poems to annehamon@knology.net

The Deadline is February 7th, 2002 (one week before Valentine's day).
The following prizes will be awarded:

One 1st place prize of $50.00 - either in cash/check or an Amazon.com gift certificate.
One 2nd place prize of  $30.00 - either in cash/check or an Amazon.com gift certificate.
One 3rd place prize of  $20.00 - either in cash/check or an Amazon.com gift certificate.

FOR PAULA

I ardently long for the day
when there's only the highest love
that absorbs all the prayers we pray
which ascend to our God above.

I yearn for the dissolution
of this feeble frame of clay,
for God's great final consummation
to carry our souls away.

I wait for the Father's love,
His agape to swallow me,
for his glory, the beauty of
which shall ultimately make us free.

How I groan in a long travail
to be rid of each trace of shame
when His rapturous Love unveiled
takes my soul to that higher plane.
