Broken Vessel
‘Tis weak with the easy going
they always have a song
yet lack in the depth of knowing
some vessels are not as strong.
Beaten, tossed by the winds of change
and the fury of storms that blew,
ever smitten with hurt and angst,
they grow numb from the pain they
knew.
‘Tis only the fool who dreams -
never learning the lesson taught,
that tomorrow shall be the same
as today. . .that they forgot.
When bright lightning fills the
sky,
soon will come the clap of thunder
then the tears will begin to fly
hide your heart - keep your love
down under!
Build a wall - make it very high
-
one that nothing can penetrate.
Don’t come out -- hold your thoughts
-- deny
all that shouts, all that shouts,
"It’s great!"
Broken vessels can be re-glued,
yet display worn and crackled lines,
having fallen and dashed to bits
-
now unfit, they carry no wine.
