        (A Sonnet)

I marvel at the patience of my God
Who with longsuffering bears so lovingly -
and pours out grace where sinful feet have trod -
Such mercy is a humbling mystery. . .

His wonders never end, and I'm amazed
that One as Holy could still love me so,
And yet He says, "My ways are not your ways!"
Such loveliness - too beautiful to know!

And though He makes me tremble as He slays
me with the Holy fire of His Love,
He strengthens feeble feet, corrects their ways
and steers them heavenward to joy above

this earthly realm, a cold and hollow place.
I marvel at the magnitude of Grace!
