God has in His hands a Great Fish Net. It is His Son, Jesus Christ who was sent to catch all of the Father's fishes out of the seas of the earth. The Great Fish Net was woven in the womb of the Virgin Mary -- woven of the threads of the Father's love. Our heavenly Father sent Jesus to be His Great Fish Net. He cast Jesus upon the seas -- all the peoples in the earth and by him (Jesus Christ) our Father is slowly dragging every fish to shore. The fishes are of various kinds and colors. Some are small, some are large, some are tropical and some are of the cold-water variety. Most of the fishes do not even know they are being caught. A few of them do know and try to share with the other fishes the purposes of our heavenly Father and His Great Fish Net. But mostly the fishes are not much interested in listening since they are content to just go along doing what fishes do -- swimming, eating, playing and fighting with the other fishes in the sea.
Yet the Great Fish Net has indeed come into their lives. Some of the fishes are happy about the Great Fish Net, desiring to be taken out of the troubled seas where life is often hard and complicated. Other fishes see the Great Fish Net as a either a threat, or perhaps mostly an intrusion into the normal course of their lives. Many fight to get free of the Great Fish Net, looking for a hole to slip through so they may go back to sea life as usual. Some of the fishes are quite ill and growing sicker by the hour as they are tossed about in the necessary struggle.
Other fishes are confused because they are told by some of their fellow fish-mates that the Great Fish Net has come to kill them. These go about preaching . . ."We're trapped here and all of us who do not escape the Great Fish Net are going to die!" For this cause, many of the fishes neither trust nor love each other or the Great Fish Net. Some of the fishes are frightened by the high tossing waves which come about in intermitent sea-storms full of loud thunder and bright lightening.
Furthermore, there are other strange sea creatures caught in the Great Fish Net with God's fishes... things like stinging eels and sharp-toothed sharks. These creatures are not afraid of the Great Fish Net for they have one-track minds and their lone mission is to make God's fishes miserable before making them into dinner. All the while, God keeps dragging His fishes toward the shore using His Great Fish Net. He knows many of His fishes do not understand His purpose... that His intention is to take them to a place where only the purest water flows continually - a peaceful place where no predators roam. When the full catch is done, all the fishes will understand the Great Fisherman with His Net and all will be made whole by the pure and Living Water. In the fullness of time, all the fishes from all God's seas will be one family of fish who have no desire to fight with one another, no sharks to dread and no more stinging eels to fear. They will swim together forever in the Living Water, praising the Great Fisherman for His awesome wisdom and power and glory throughout all the ages forever and ever.
1 Timothy 4:9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. 10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, especially of those that believe. 11 These things command and teach.
